Black Velvet has been used very successfully on heifers, but has enough power and growth for cows. He had a minus 8.21 RFI and ate just 12.2 lbs of feed per day with a feed conversion of just 4 lbs of feed to 1 lb of of gain. He started with a 74 lb BW, weaned at 816 to ratio 114, had a gain ratio of 106, yearling ratio of 110, a ribeye ratio of 107, and an IMF ratio of 108. His first calf dam has 10 Pathfinder producers in the first 3 generations. His calves are thick, wide based, easy doing, eye catching and performance oriented.
